New Job

I started my new job today, moved from a US based software product company with over a billion in revenue to another US based open source software company with revenues yet to come in.

Temporary office is in a building on the service road of Sarjapur Road in Koramangala, the commercial buildings are at edges and inside is quite residential, can understand all the hue and cry over it in newspapers recently. Feels good when I step out to answer cell calls, as reception bad inside; but guess that residents may not share the same sentiment.

Lots of changes and differences, I am using my own laptop as we wish to postpone buying till we move to our own facility. There is no canteen and we have to go to regular restaurants for food, this is time consuming, expensive and un-healthy; on the flip side you get to see many people and fun to guess where they work, IT or ITES and what area within that.

After meeting people, setting up mail and intranet access and screening resumes, had an interesting afternoon. We went to do a presentation in another start-up which was closing down after an valiant effort, a subtle reminder that success is not assured and a strong to do your best for success.

Commute is reduced by a few kilometers, and dont have to venture on the dreaded Hosur Road.
